Do YOU believe in an Afterlife?

TAs/Interns

You are all now placed with a teacher/staff member/ at your place of work.
Don't forget to sign your work log EACH time  you work. You will need this toward the end of the term and semester. If you keep your binder in my classroom then I can see that you are here, as you are in my attendance folder...to that end, please ensure that you are checking in with me either at the start or end of your block so I can mark you 'present'.

English 12

Your homework is to read The Guest by Albert Camus, p 358. For those of you that don't have textbooks. Please read, it here: L'Hote
There are some questions that need to be completed for our class discussion. These are #3-7 in your textbook. #6: omit the question that asks "How does Daru reflect France's flight?" Everybody should have the questions.
Reminder: (does it qualify as a nag now?) get a lock, hand in your permission slip for Bard, get your planner signed.

Magnificent Monday!

Hello TAs/Interns,

You are mostly all with your teachers now except for a few of you. Remember to log your hours each day you are working with a teacher if your are a TA or every time you are an Intern/doing Work Experience.
Check periodically checking the blog for upcoming assignments. There will be reading and reflections coming up next month.

English 12

Tonight you are writing a one paragraph response to question two of Just Lather, Just All. You will be handing this in, so come with it ready at the START of class to do so.
Planners, field trip forms, locks, journals: get these!

You are reading "Ch. 2" for homework tonight in the Perrine's textbook (sorry I don't have a page # but it is in the preceding pages of The Destructors).
There are no reading questions.
If you don't have a copy or a textbook, I have posted copies on the wall outside my door, perhaps you can get your reading done early Monday morning.
Reminder: there are only a few of you who need to get your planner signed (great work!), get a journal and a lock if you do not have one,  I will be checking for these on Monday.
Also, get your form signed for the field trip next Wednesday.

Is Grammar Gruesome or Glorious?

TAs and Interns, please continue to complete your application process today.
Note: Mr Bennett is also interested in having a TA this semester.

English 12
Please finish reading "The Destructors" and answer questions 1,2,4 on page 124
Students who do not have a textbook yet, or who forgot their textbook at school (tsk, tsk) can find the story RIGHT HERE

The questions are as follows:
1. Who is the protagonist in this story--Trevor, Blackie, or the gang? Who or what is the antagonist? Identify the conflicts in the story.

2. How is suspense created?

4. Discuss the gang's motivations, taking into account A) the age and beauty of the house, B) Blackie's reasons for not going home after losing his position of leadership, C) the seriousness with which the boys work at their task, and their loss of concern over their leadership, D) the burning of the pound notes, E) their considerations for Old Misery, F) the lorry driver's reaction. What characteristics do the gang's two named exploits--pinching free rides and destroying the house--have in common?
