Read!

The weekend homework for you is pretty light,
Rewrite your paragraphs, make sure the similes are right.
Fix up your writing and bring in a physical copy,
If you write them by hand, don't make them sloppy.
And please don't email them, (I'm old school like that),
Instead of words on a screen, I like 'em on paper that's flat.

Boys and Girls, Teachers and Students

Tonight you're reading a story about 'coming-of-age',
Find the story "Boys and Girls" on the forty-fifth page.
We'll look at whether stereotypes could really be true,
The narrator will find something about herself that's new.
After you read it, you must complete question number two.
And I'll ask what's the theme, be ready, I might call on you.

Short Story in all Its Glory!

Tonight you've got to write a creative paragraph,
Include descriptions so clear it looks like a photograph.
Notice that simile, you'll need five of those in it,
Write a page (double spaced), take more than a minute.
And if you haven't yet, answer questions two and three,
For the story with the song titled "Mon Pays".

English 11, Let's Go!!

In terms of homework, it's just a fact,
Memorize this blog, it'll be packed,
with assignments, due dates and also some readings
but they'll contribute to our classroom talks and meetings.
So tonight block C is answering numbers two and three,
We are short on textbooks so block D, guess your free.
"D" can take the night off, and enjoy the rest,
But tomorrow get ready to be put to the *test!

*metaphorically speaking, of course.
