Fade to black

There's nothing more to see here; this is my final post
I hang my blogger hat up, and raise a glass to toast
you and all your efforts--I enjoyed this class the most,
but I'll claim it's just a rumor if you go around and boast.

Room 105 is closing, both in John Knox and here online
My verses meet their resting spot, I've nothing left to opine.
This year is nearly finished, and classes are in decline
so come back in September, and I'll resume this task of mine.

Writing rhymes wasn't easy, it took more time than I thought,
but I hoped to gaslight your poems, so I gave it my best shot.
Each poem was meant to inspire, it was a hidden message I taught
Because EVERYONE can write poetry, or, at least, they ought!

Yours,
Mrs Loconte

Save the Drama for your...chapel?

So here we are: having completed all assigned readings,
We've only to look forward to dramatic court proceedings.
The early feelings of finality bring a sweet sense of relief,
but to be done English Eleven also brings some disbelief.
We're done already?! I've been having such a blast,
not including the marking, it's been like a party I want to last.
But let's keep it real, we're all looking forward to summer,
to give our minds a little break, and act a little dumber.
But it's not quite a wrap yet, we have a little further to go:
Complete chapter 12 questions, and put on a trial show.
So think about your roles, the ones you hope you get,
tomorrow's class will give you time to start getting set.

In Today's News

Meaningful conversation in English first block,
I enjoyed your contributions--time flew on the clock.
Then we reviewed poetic terms a la my favorite game,
"Waste" came back from behind; put everyone to shame.
So as for tonight, we move toward the book's resolution,
Read chapter 11: rancor spreads like an odius suffusion.

What a Beautiful Name it is!

Sunday blog posts are a little out of the norm,
like what happened on the island when there was a storm.
Well, not quite like what happened there, that was just sick.
They killed poor Simon: savagely hit him with their stick!
Think it’s fair to say their society is in a state of devilution
And tracing that out tonight is your homework’s soulution.
If you haven’t started yet, well, I feel bad for you, son,
You might have 99 problems, but that’s the worst one.
