Support the Animals; Eat Cake!

 English 10

The years were 1564-1616....

We will begin our unit of Drama and with none other than the GOAT of Drama: William Shakespeare. We will step into the "Wayback Machine" and look at some of the events and people of his time (see dates above).

With your specific topic, create a 3-5 slide presentation. This should be a five minute presentation where you tell us a little more about the time in which Shakespeare lived.

Then we are off to Ancient Rome as we look at The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Allow me to be your tour guide of Rome, while you take us to jolly ol' Renaissance England.

"Tour Guide" Slides due tomorrow. Travel insurance, and travel brochures not included.

PS no one likes lots of words on slides. Know your notes.

English 11

Questions will be given tomorrow during class tomorrow after the presentation wrap up. Since you have read up to page 37, there is no further reading required at this point.

Philosophy 12

Read up to page 173 (not Pluralist Theory) and answer the following questions:

(looking back on today's reading) How does being forced by the majority make me free, according to Rousseau?

What makes the US unique compared to any other State in history?

Re: Locke's Second Treatise: how are we free and subject to the laws of government; how do we give consent when no contract has been signed; put the last paragraph of the excerpt into your own words.

Who is John Locke?
