- Describe the best way(s) in which the theme of a story may be stated.
- Distinguish between the theme of a story and the central purpose.
- Differentiate between the typical themes of commercial vs. literary stories.
- Stat the six principles relating the theme as described in this reading.

Read chapter 5 for the weekend and answer the questions.
