English
For the Humour and Irony rengiad, please answer all of the questions at the end of the section.
As a follow up to the play we saw on Friday please respond to either of the following questions in written format. The length is determined by the depth of your response:
This adaptation of Midsummer Night's Dream was quite bawdy at times see definition.
Was such an inclusion helpful, harmful, or of no consequence? Consider the audience, the original script if you have read it and our current social culture in your response.
Or
This adaption of Midsummer's Night Dream took many liberties with pop culture music, songs from the recent past, lines and actions that were not in the original script (for example, taking a 'selfie' with a member of the audience). Did you enjoy such freedom of the actors? Likely they added an element of humour but did they serve any other purpose for the audience and did you appreciate these extra elements in the play?

Windy Wednesday
English
1. Finish reading Just Lather, That's all. It's a good one! Write down the answers to the two questions at the end of the handout.
2. Rewrite the Introductory paragraph, given the student and teacher advice with which you were provided today. Submit this rewrite with the original.
Social Justice
1. In our discussion on Unclean Water, you read the Briefing, Field note 1, and Field note 3. Pick one entry that had the greatest impact on you. What impressed you the most--the people, the need, the difficulty, God's provision, or a person's selfless service? Write your own thoughts, feelings, and reactions in a paragraph response.
2. In a second paragraph, reflect on some patterns in your life that you might need to reconsider after reading and discussing this section (unclean water). What are some habits that you feel you might want to include or exclude from your life. It can be anything from replacing your shower head with a less wasteful one to supporting an NGO doing water-based work abroad.
3. This weekend take the three gallon challenge (not for marks). Try to experience what its like not having accessible clean water. You can find three gallons of water at your local store. Find out what its really like to wash your clothes, your body, cook, brush your teeth, etc with only three gallons of water. If you REALLY want a challenge try carrying home three gallons of water from the store. No backpacks allowed. Remember this is a reality for 1.1 billion people around the world.
4. Pre-reading starts NOW.

3. Reminder that Timeline and Reseach Paper are now due Monday.
English
1. Imagine I assigned you an essay that said, "Using examples from the poem, explain the theme in Dulce et Decorum Est". Make some preliminary notes on what you would use for support (these do not need to be handed in).
2. Write an introductory paragraph of that imagined essay of approximately 5-7 sentences. You will need a thesis and a hook (this does need to be handed in, eventually).
